Classes

A Haven for Artistic Growth:  At the heart of the Church of Arts and Expression lies its commitment to nurturing artistic growth and development. Aerial arts classes serve as a cornerstone, providing both beginners and seasoned performers a platform to explore the mesmerizing world of aerial acrobatics. Expert instructors guide students through a comprehensive curriculum, focusing on safety, technique, and creativity. These classes not only build physical strength and flexibility but also encourage a profound connection between body, mind, and artistic expression.

Spectacular Performances:  The Church regularly hosts breathtaking aerial arts performances that captivate the imagination of the audience. These spectacles showcase the skill and creativity of the artists who have honed their craft within the Church's walls. With daring displays of strength, grace, and storytelling, these performances transport attendees into a realm of wonder and emotion. The Church's performances serve as a source of inspiration, demonstrating the profound impact of artistic expression on both the performers and the audience.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Comfortable, snug fit leggings that give you enough mobility to fully extend and bend your legs.

  • No zippers, belts, studs or metals on your clothing– they rip our precious silks. You will not be allowed to climb in clothing wearing zippers.

  • Please remove all jewelry, no exceptions. Fingernails to be short and groomed.

  • A snug fitting shirt that does not fall over your face when you invert. For your first classes your shirt should covers your armpits until your skin becomes comfortable with the friction under the armpits. Please, no mid-drifts or exposed waists. This is for your own safety and comfort. The more coverage you have, the less likely you will experience first time friction burns.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Plenty of water for the whole hour. We do have a water cooler for your use if you bring along a bottle to fill!

  • A positive attitude! We have a super fun and supportive culture at The Guardian. We encourage all students to celebrate each other's aerial successes! Woohoo!

HELPFUL TIPS

  • Always keep safety at the forefront of your mind – learn and practice new skills at the minimum safe height.

  • Listen carefully to your teacher and avoid distracting others.

  • No teaching other students, please allow the teacher to do all the instructing.

  • No zippers, no jewelry, no rings, no long nails to be worn on fabrics + save our silks from dangerous holes.

  • Love your crash mat, but rely on your body to save you first.

  • Be honest and kind to your body, and always let your teacher know if you ever feel scared, unsure or simply need help.

  • Please be mindful of personal hygiene and cleanliness, including hands, feet and body odor.  Fabrics, mats and apparatuses get cleaned regularly however its still shared equipment.

  • We recommend having something light in the stomach to stave off dizziness. However, we do not recommend a big meal before  class.
